The 2010 Shift
December 22, 2009I have been very aware over the last few months of 2009 that my business, summit marketing solutions, needs to change in 2010 if it is to survive. But the hardest thing is not changing the business, but changing my attitude, behaviours and habits.
The first issue is planning, yes I wrote a business plan when I started, but did I stick to it, NOPE! So since early December I have planned my marketing activities to target the right people, as well as add tonnes of added value to ensure we are the only marketing company they use!
The other impressive thing I have started using is targets, but not just in my head, written down wherever I go, on the iPhone, bedroom roof, office, etc. And low an behold I find myself striving to reach this goals like never before, give it a go!

Are you using facebook?
December 21, 2009Hello everyone, how’s business?
So here is my little bit of knowledge to get you thinking and hopefully getting your business, charity, event or job vacancy out there with little investment! Why not create a facebook page for the thing you want to promote, you can then add lots of info like pictures and video to promote it.
On average most people know 300 people each, if they connect and it gets promotes on their status page, that is huge publicity!
Give it a go, you never know who your friends know!

Anyway on with the show, a problem some of my customers dont get is the importance of identifying the problem that their product or service solves for their customers and prospects. So for example yes I have digital displays across coventry showing messages to thousands of people in stunning illuminated quality, but who cares.
The problem we solve is our clients need for more customers! We get businesses, events, job vacancies, etc, noticed by the right people.
So give some thought to the problems you solve and start targeting your market more specifically!

Today’s blog is all about consistancy, do you offer a continuous standard of service to your customers. It is essential that when you communicate with your customers you deliver the same standards in terms of:
- customer service
- product/service quality
- messaging
- and communications.
So for your marketing in 2010, plan it in advance to ensure you get into a routine. So a couple of simple steps:
- set a monthly marketing budget
- plan to stick out the process for 3 months
- keep in touch with your current customers
- ask the people you know to recommend your services.

Ask lots of questions!!!
December 16, 2009By asking your prospects and customers lots of questions, you can find out so much to build your business upon. The old adage, knowledge is power, is so true! As you get feedback from your customers, you can begin understanding how they tick.
Ask your prosepects questions to make them feel pain derived from their problems, and once they are in that state; announce your magical solution!

Catch-Up with you
December 15, 2009I recently discovered the power of connecting with people, and the famous adage “its not what you know, its who you know”.
So I wanted to touch base with you, the person reading this blog, and please accept my sincerest thanks for taking time to read.
